About this file
This is a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for six Antarctic-capable Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) platform vehicles. The requirement includes two wheeled and four tracked prime movers for the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, NH. The vehicles must operate in extreme Antarctic conditions, with specific performance requirements including functionality at temperatures down to -40°C, capability to travel on deep snow and compacted gravel, payload capacity of 15,000-25,000 lbs, and ability to carry a driver and 3-5 passengers.
The solicitation (W913E525Q0010) is set for unrestricted competition with a small business size standard of 1,500 employees under NAICS code 336120. Quotes are due by 12:00 PM Central Standard Time on August 22, 2025, to be submitted via email to Kim.D.Roberson@usace.army.mil. The government will evaluate offers based on technical approach, past experience, and total price, with the intent to award a firm-fixed-price contract representing the best value. The vehicles will ultimately be transported to McMurdo Station, Antarctica, with the fire suppression systems to be integrated under a separate future contract.
