About this file
This document is a comprehensive technical specifications and bid package for the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site Grist Mill Foundation Repair project located at Blow-Me-Down Dam in Cornish, New Hampshire. The project involves repairing the foundation of a historic grist mill through several key construction activities, including controlled demolition of concrete wall encasement, stone and brick masonry restoration, and concrete foundation repair. The work is to be completed by a contractor who will be responsible for mobilization, traffic control, water management, excavation, and reconstruction of damaged structural elements.
The bid package includes nine primary bid items with estimated quantities and unit pricing, ranging from mobilization and general conditions to specific repair activities such as concrete foundation repair (estimated 5 cubic yards), stone masonry building wall surface repairs (estimated 22 square feet), and brick masonry repairs (estimated 8 linear feet). Additionally, the document provides two optional sub-bid items, including controlled demolition and reconstruction of concrete wall encasement and additional stone masonry retaining wall surface repairs. The project is being managed by the National Park Service, with engineering services provided by Fuss & O'Neill, Inc., and requires detailed technical specifications for execution, including strict requirements for water control, erosion prevention, and historical preservation.
