Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historic Park Flooring Contract
Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front Visitor Center 1414 Harbor Way Richmond, CA 94804
Background The work of this task order is the removal and replacement of 2,105 square feet (SF) of carpet and padding from the Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historic Park, located at the Ford Assembly Center (Oil House).
Carpet in the lower level areas are in need of replacement. These locations are in the basement of the building and can be accessed through elevators.
Tasks
· Theatre and Theater Entry: Replace carpet and padding (1,000 SF).
· Audio/Visual Room: Replace carpet and padding (200 SF).
· Classroom Area: Replace carpet and padding (685 SF).
· Library/Work Room: Replace carpet and padding (220 SF).
Work to be Performed
· Removal, storage, and reinstallation of furnishings as needed to complete the project.
· Removal of carpet padding, and track strips
· Disposal of carpet, padding, and other debris.
· Furnish and install new carpet, padding, and tack strips on floors.
· Cleaning of carpet for occupancy.
Scope
· The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials to accomplish the work. All work will be performed under a single contract.
· The National Park Service (NPS) will identify the flooring materials to be removed and replaced.
· The contractor shall remove and replace the flooring material with like in kind, a commercial grade polyester carpet.
· The contractor shall be responsible for the removal, storage, and reinstallation of the furnishings – including pews, musical instruments, chairs, podium, etc. Storage area will be provided onsite.
· The contractor shall repair and repaint any paneling damaged during the removal and replacement of the flooring and underlayment.
· The contractor shall remove all associated debris and dispose of them in a responsible manner not within Yosemite National Park or its refuse collection containers.
· The National Park Service will perform periodic inspections, provide a punch list as necessary, and perform a final acceptance inspection.
Period of Performance The period of performance for completing project shall not exceed 14 calendar days from the date the contractor begins work.
Onsite Requirements Work shall be generally performed during normal business working hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm. Mondays and Tuesdays preferred. These are the days that the visitor center are closed to the public.
