Statement of Work for

Boat Engine and Services

1.0 SCOPE

This Statement of Work (SOW) describes the minimum characteristics/requirements for (1) the purchase of a 150 Hp, Jet-Drive, outboard boat engine, (2) installation of an existing owned compatible jet drive pump on the new engine, and (3) installation of the new engine, and new steering cable, onto an existing owned USGS boat.

1.1 Background.

The boat, with new engine, will be used by USGS staff for water sampling, data collection, servicing and exploration of new sites, and construction of continuous monitoring stations.

2.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

The following documents form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein.

2.1 Salients Specifications.

• Salient Characteristics, “Attachment 1 – Salient Specifications for Outboard Engine (150 Hp), and Steering Cable.”

3.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Purchased Equipment. The Contractor shall deliver 1 ea. boat engine and 1 ea. steering cable in accordance with the salient specifications listed in the attached document, “Salient Specifications for Outboard Engine (150 Hp), and Steering Cable.”

3.2 Services to be Performed. The Contractor shall perform all tasks associated with installing the new engine on a USGS boat. Thus, the Contractor shall provide labor, tools, and all materials necessary to complete the following:

• Remove the jet drive pump, and the stomp grate (as necessary), from an existing owned USGS outboard engine, and install it onto the new outboard engine.

• Install the new engine, and boat steering cable, on a USGS supplied boat.

• Perform basic functional test(s) to demonstrate that the engine has been properly installed for operation.

3.3 Government Furnished Property (GFP). USGS will deliver the existing owned boat, with existing engine and jet drive pump installed, to the Contractor’s facility. Specific date and time for the delivery will be coordinated between the Contractor and the Government’s representative.

3.3.1 Jet Drive Pump. The jet drive pump provided by the Gov’t is compatible with the following type of outboard engine(s):

3.3 Return of GFP. The old motor, and unused lower unit from the new motor, shall be returned to the Government.

3.4 Contractor Location. USGS will deliver the existing owned boat to the contractor's facility if it's within 200 miles of the USGS office in Redding, CA, otherwise the contractor is responsible for arranging shipping of the USGS's boat.

4.0 DELIVERIES

4.1 Delivery Period. The boat, with newly installed engine, jet drive pump, and steering cable shall be ready within 180 days following the date of contract award.

4.2 Delivery Point. The boat, with newly installed engine and jet drive pump will be picked up by the Government. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Government on date and time when everything will be ready for pick-up.
