Equipment Installation and Service for Law Enforcement and Emergency Response Vehicles
U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service Olympic National Park Visitor and Resource Protection
OBJECTIVE
The Visitor and Resource Protection program at Olympic National Park is seeking a qualified vendor to install law enforcement and emergency response equipment into two leased GSA fleet vehicles used for law enforcement and emergency services. Work will include picking up vehicles from Olympic National Park to vendor’s facility to be serviced and returning completed vehicles from vendor’s facility back to Olympic National Park.
Period of Performance
The contract is offered for one year beginning June 27, 2022, through December 31, 2022, and may be renewed up to three additional years.
BACKGROUND
The Visitor and Resource Protection program maintains a fleet of up to twenty vehicles of varying makes and models outfitted for law enforcement and emergency response, which are used in a wide variety of settings such as traffic enforcement, emergency medical care, search and rescue, and visitor use management. Each vehicle at Olympic National Park used in this capacity must be outfitted and maintained in a response-ready state at all times of day and at all times of year.
The National Park Service is responsible for protecting park visitors and resources within the legislative boundaries of Olympic National Park. Such protection includes the support of critical park functions such as law enforcement and criminal monitoring, physical security, firefighting, search and rescue, emergency medical care, and incident management. Calls to address these critical park functions are answered by highly trained and capable personnel from the park’s Visitor and Resource Protection program. It is vital that such personnel have access to specially outfitted vehicles capable of supporting such critical park functions and that they are configured professionally, uniformly, and reliably to allow a rapid and safe response to emergencies. Therefore, the installation of such specialized vehicle equipment requires a broad knowledge of and familiarity with safe law enforcement and emergency response strategies and tactics, vehicle functions and typical use, equipment specifications, and safety requirements.
Fulfillment of this contract addresses only the installation of law enforcement and emergency response equipment into identified vehicles. Such equipment includes emergency lighting, front-mounted push bumper, prisoner transport systems, locking rifle and shotgun mounts, trunk mounted security boxes, and related after-market emergency equipment and wiring. This contract does not include mechanical maintenance and/or repair of the vehicle and/or their factory components.
Installations may occur at any time of year.
