National Park Service Point Reyes National Seashore
Specifications - Aggregate Road Base Supply And Delivery
1 DESCRIPTION
The National Park Service (NPS), Point Reyes National Seashore (PORE), in Marin County, California, has a requirement for a vendor to supply and deliver approximately 4,210 tons of Class II 3/4-inch Aggregate Road Base per the following specifications, to be delivered by end-dump and bottom- dump trucks to five primary locations as road conditions permit.
There is one alternate location stockpile at Park Headquarters if needed. All rock to be virgin material ONLY (no recycled content) from a certified weed-free quarry. Material must meet California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Standard Specifications for aggregate bases. Weed-free quarry name and location must be specified on quote and additional certification provided as requested.
1.2 SPECIFICATIONS
Class II 3/4-inch Aggregate Road Base: Furnish hard, durable particles or fragments of crushed aggregate base conforming to the size and quantity requirements for crushed aggregate material normally used locally in the construction and maintenance of highways by Federal agencies. Furnish quarried crushed aggregate with a maximum size of 3/4 inch as determined by AASHTO T27. Furnish crushed aggregate uniformly graded from coarse to fine and free of organic matter, lumps, balls of clay and other deleterious matter.
Aggregate must be derived from natural stone formation that has been mined or quarried:
No recycled material or material derived from river run material will be accepted.
Material must conform to Caltrans standard specifications for aggregate bases, which can be found at URL: https://dot.ca.gov/programs/design/ccs-standard-plans-and-standard-specifications.
1.3 DELIVERY INFORMATION
The project locations, where material is to be delivered, and an alternate storage area where any overage from project sites shall be stockpiled, are all within Point Reyes National Seashore. The address for Park Headquarters is 1 Bear Valley Rd., Point Reyes Station, CA 95965. The Park reserves the right to adjust the totals delivered to each site depending upon site conditions. Daily delivery schedule will be coordinated with COR in accordance NPS staff’s production rate.
Deliveries shall be accepted Monday through Thursday, excluding Federal holidays, between the hours of 7:00am-4:00pm, and coordinated through Work Leader Levi McIsaac (COR) at
(415) 464-5161 or Roads Supervisor Jeff Jewhurst at (415) 464-5158.

Site 1: Marshall Beach Road 1398 L Ranch Rd Inverness, CA 94937 (Approximate address) GPS coordinates are approximately: 38° 9'14.79"N 122°55'11.62"W Contractor shall spread approximately 1,150 tons of aggregate base for immediate use by NPS staff.
Site 2: Tomales Beach Road 5481 Pierce Point Rd Inverness, CA 94937 (Approximate address) GPS coordinates are approximately: 38°10'10.01"N 122°56'3.73"W Contractor shall spread approximately 630 tons of aggregate base for immediate use by NPS staff.
Site 3 Duck Cove Road 1398 L Ranch Rd. Inverness, CA 94937 (Approximate address) GPS coordinates are approximately: 38° 8'6.83"N 122°54'44.90"W Contractor shall dump approximately 1,310 tons of aggregate base for immediate use by NPS staff.
Site 4: Five Brooks Parking Lot (Stewart Trail Trailhead) 8001 Highway 1, Olema, CA 94950 (Approximate address) GPS coordinates are approximately: 38.12345"N 122°45'27.83"W Contractor shall dump approximately 905 tons of aggregate base for stockpiling by NPS staff.
Site 5: Abbots Lagoon Trailhead Parking Lot 3106 Pierce Point Road. Inverness, CA 94937 (Approximate address) GPS coordinates are approximately: 38° 7'23.84"N 122°56'6.34"W Contractor shall dump approximately 260 tons of aggregate base for stockpiling by NPS staff.
Site 6: ALTERNATE STOCKPILE SITE – Roads Corporation Yard 1 Bear Valley Road Point Reyes Station, CA 94956 GPS coordinates are approximately 38° 2'44.35"N 122°48'1.93"W At discretion of COR should work status at Sites 1-5 require such redirection , materials may also be delivered to an alternate site: Park Headquarters at 1 Bear Valley Rd Point Reyes Station, CA 95965. Use this location as an alternate to the aforementioned delivery sites at direction of COR.
