About this file
This is a detailed specification document from the National Park Service's Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Rainbow Bridge National Monument for the purchase of Fifth Class Ionomer Foam navigational buoys. The document outlines requirements for 60 total buoys: 15 green can buoys (Model 51720-5CFR), 30 white can buoys (Model 51720-5CFR), and 15 red nun buoys (Model 51720-5NFR).
The specifications detail precise dimensional requirements including 88-90 inch overall height, 20-inch top mark diameter with radar reflectors, and 14x30 inch float dimensions. The buoys must be modular with four sections, weigh less than 150 lbs, provide net buoyancy of 520 lbs or greater, and meet US Coast Guard 5CFR specifications. Construction requirements specify hot-dip galvanized steel components, including a 72-inch stanchion and steel ballast. Vendors must submit proposals with detailed specifications, pricing, and delivery options while demonstrating compliance with all requirements and USCG regulations. The buoys must be shipped unassembled and be designed for marine conditions with emphasis on durability and longevity.
