About this file
This document is a purchase description template for procuring DNA purification and size selection reagent to be used in a high-throughput chromatin accessibility screening assay developed through collaboration between the National Institutes of Health Early Translation Branch and external partners. The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences seeks to purchase 30 bottles of KAPA Pure Beads, a 60mL DNA purification and size selection product, to be delivered within 7 days for use in optimizing and conducting the screening assay. The reagent will purify DNA and remove unwanted reaction components in a size-selectable manner during next-generation sequencing library preparation.

PURCHASE DESCRIPTION
1. Statement of Need and Purpose: Reagent needed for amplification of DNA for next generation sequencing in high-throughput assay for chromatin
2. Background Information and Objective:
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation’s leading medical research agency and the primary Federal agency whose mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability, conducting, supporting and making medical discoveries that improve people’s health and save lives.
The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which mission it is to catalyze the generation of innovative methods and technologies that will enhance the development, testing and implementation of diagnostics and therapeutics across a wide range of human diseases and conditions.
The NCATS Early Translation Branch (ETB) collaborates with investigators at NIH and in the academic, biopharmaceutical and nonprofit sectors to generate probes for studying a diverse cross-section of human biology, focusing specifically on new targets and untreatable diseases. The project team is collaboratively developing a high-throughput screening assay that assesses chromatin accessibility. This requisition is to procure DNA purif ication and size selection reagent that can be used in a novel screening assay.
The experimental procedure has been optimized for use with this particular product.
The collaborative team aims to develop a high-throughput chromatin assay. The reagent has been used in the optimization phase of the protocol and this purchase will provide material for high-throughput screening.
