[B] County_Holidays.pdf

This document is a holidays reference guide for Cecil County, Maryland, associated with Invitation for Bid (IFB) B-24-010 for Sewer Pump Maintenance and Repair Services. The file outlines the official county-observed holidays that will be applicable to contractors performing services for Cecil County. The holidays include New Year's Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Election Day (in even years), Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, American Indian Heritage Day (the day after Thanksgiving), and Christmas Day. Several holidays, including MLK Jr's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day, are observed on Mondays when they fall on weekends. A notable exception is that the Cecil County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division at the Central Landfill operates on American Indian Heritage Day. The county maintains an official holidays list for each calendar year available upon request.

The document serves as a reference for contractors to understand when county offices and operations will be closed, which is essential for scheduling work, coordinating inspections, and planning service delivery. This information is particularly relevant for on-call service contracts such as sewer pump maintenance and repair services, where contractors must coordinate with county personnel and understand when county facilities will be staffed or closed. Contractors should reference this holidays schedule when planning response times, maintenance activities, and communication with county officials.
