About this file

This is a Sources Sought announcement issued by the United States Air Force (USAF) dated 1 April 2026 for the B-2 Zonal Radar program. The USAF is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of performing rapid procurement, sustainment, further development, and modification of existing zonal radar capability for the B-2 Weapon System over an expected five-year period of performance. The Government emphasizes that responses are not offers and cannot form binding contracts, no payment will be made for response costs, and all submissions become Government property. Interested parties must monitor SAM.gov for future solicitation information.

The contractor must demonstrate capabilities to fabricate existing items, perform technology updates, and modify existing designs to address obsolescence and new requirements. Key technical requirements include high-resolution surveillance with detailed imaging of aerial targets and ground movement; wide-area coverage for border security and airspace monitoring; multi-target tracking with high accuracy; Electronic Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM) for contested environments; Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) capabilities for reconnaissance; modular and scalable design; real-time data processing; mobility and deployment flexibility; integration with command, control, communication, and intelligence (C3I) systems; and low power consumption with compact design. Deliverables include technical data packages, existing system components addressing obsolescence and maintenance modifications, ground support system components, engineering reports with program status updates and test results, and all items must include a minimum five-year warranty. The contractor must secure classified and unclassified hardware and documentation up to SECRET level, with minimum personnel security clearance requirements of SECRET. The USAF notes that existing Technical Data Packages are insufficient for third-party manufacturing and several items have restricted data rights; respondents must explain how they will manufacture items without complete Government design data.

Responses must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. EST on 30 April 2026 as a capabilities package limited to 10 single-sided pages in MS-Word, Times New Roman, 12-point font. Submissions should be sent electronically to alana.williams.1@us.af.mil or mailed to AFLCMC/WBZ, Attn: Ms. Alana Williams, BLDG 556, 2690 Loop Road West, Wright Patterson AFB, OH 45433-7148. Respondents must describe their firm's nature of business, company size, CAGE code, relevant project experience from the past five years with contract numbers and Government points of contact, manufacturing and fabrication experience, hardware/software development management capabilities including subcontractor involvement, quality assurance and test qualification practices, and teaming arrangements. All prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) database. Applicable NAICS codes are 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) and 334118 (Computer Terminal and Other Computer Peripheral Equipment Manufacturing). Both large and small businesses, including Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Women-Owned Small Businesses, 8(a) Certified Small Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses are encouraged to participate.
