About this file
This is an Authorization to Transact Business statement required by Virginia Code Section 2.2-4311.2 for the Botetourt County, Virginia structure demolition and site restoration project (Contract 26-002). The document establishes compliance requirements for bidders participating in the solicitation for demolition, debris removal, and site restoration services at 72 Railroad Avenue, Eagle Rock, Virginia. Bidders must declare their business authorization status with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) by selecting one of three options: confirmation of Virginia business entity status with SCC Identification Number, foreign business entity authorization status with SCC Identification Number, or explanation of exemption from SCC authorization requirements.
The statement serves as a mandatory submission component for all bids and ensures compliance with Virginia statutory requirements for business entities transacting in the Commonwealth. Bidders organized or authorized under Virginia Code Titles 13.1 or 50, or as otherwise required by law, must provide their SCC Identification Number. Those not subject to SCC authorization must provide written justification for their exemption status. This certification requirement applies to all qualified contractors bidding on the project, which is partially funded through Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funds and State of Virginia support via the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM).
