BOE Travel
| Basis of Estimate (BOE) for Proposed Travel |
| INSTRUCTIONS: Offerors are required to provide their BOE for travel to ensure proposed travel costs are in accordance with federal regulations. The proposed travel should be tied to the Offeror's technical approach. Offeror's can utilize the provided example below, or provide the required information in their own format. |
SOURCES:
Travel must be conducted in accordance with FAR 31.205-46 and Joint Travel Regulations. FAR 31.205-46 states that travel costs are considered reasonable if they do not exceed maximum per diem rates (or the lowest customary standard, coach or equivalent airfare). If the contractor can get written approval for the higher amounts, by an officer of the contractor’s organization, those higher than maximum costs can become allowable. In this case, FAR 31.205-46(a)(3)(iv) would apply, and the contractor would be required to submit a receipt for each expenditure of $75 or more.
* Airfare/Rental rates should not exceed the lowest customary standard. In the absence of competition, government will compare proposed prices to available prices in the commercial market to determine price fair and reasonable.
** Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) mode of transportation rates can be found at http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/100715?utm_source=OGP&utm_medium=print-radio&utm_term=mileage&utm_campaign=shortcuts. NOTE: If using POV, do NOT request "gasoline" in addition to POV rate
*** Maximum per diem rates can be found at www.gsa.gov/travel/plan-book/per-diem-rates.
