About this file
This is a Performance Work Statement for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Northfield Brook Lake in Thomaston, Connecticut, detailing the demolition and removal of a picnic shelter and associated amenities.
The contractor shall demolish one wooden picnic shelter structure and remove multiple picnic tables and a grill station with concrete apron from the recreational area. The picnic shelter is a covered structure with a shingled roof, wooden beam supports, and brick or stone flooring, as shown in Figures 1-3. Additionally, the contractor must remove one pedestal grill and its concrete apron pad (Figure 4), multiple concrete picnic tables that are anchored to concrete foundation pads (Figures 5-6), and associated concrete pads beneath these fixtures. Figure 7 provides an example of typical picnic table construction drawings showing both the table assembly and concrete foundation details. All demolition debris and removed materials must be properly disposed of, and the site must be restored to a safe, clean condition upon completion. The work is located at a Corps of Engineers recreation facility and is subject to standard federal contracting requirements and project management oversight.
