LEAVE TREE MARK (LTM) UNITS

UNITS
CUTTING DESIGNATION
REQUIREMENTS
8, 10
Excluding ES and trees marked to be left (Orange or Pink paint):

1) Cut all dead conifer trees greater than or equal to 5.6 inch stump diameter

2) Cut all live PP from 5.6 inch stump diameter to 9.6 inch stump diameter

3) Cut live LP and other conifers from 5.6 inch stump diameter to 7.6 inch stump diameter.

Coarse Woody Debris: leave 3-5 logs/acre in full contact with the ground and not jackstrawed > 10 inches large end diameter, and ≥ 50 linear feet/acre.

3-5 dead trees/acre, meeting these requirements, may be felled and left in place to ensure requirements are met.

Skidding:

All cut trees are to be whole tree skidded to landings with exception of trees meeting the criteria for Coarse Woody Debris; and trees less than 5 inches DBH which may be hand piled within the Unit or piled at landings.

Pile at Landing:

Pile trees at landing for disposal by Forest Service. Pile specifications are stated in H.22 Slash Treatment B. CLIN 002 LEAVE TREE MARK: Biomass, Slash, Cleanup Thin Biomass Trees:

Thin biomass trees in Units 8, 10 *Maximum stump height for all conifers less than 5.0 inches DBH is 6.0 inches*

THINNING DIAMETER AND SPACING CRITERIA FOR LESS THAN 5.0” DBH

UNITS
CUTTING DESIGNATION
REQUIREMENTS
8, 10
Thin live conifer trees 2.0 feet tall to 4.9 inches DBH
Retain a 20 x 20 foot bole spacing (+/- 4.0 feet) from residual trees, using tree characteristics listed below in 2.2.

Slash Treatment and Landing Clean Up:

See Contract Section H.22 Slash Treatment for specifications.

C. CLIN 0003 DESIGNATION BY DAMAGE CLASS (DxDAM):Cut, Skid, Pile, Slash, Cleanup Felling:

All trees are designated for cutting when meeting the minimum specifications for cutting as shown on the tables below and not selected as leave trees. All Appendix B provisions apply.

*Maximum stump height for non-sawtimber trees felled (all conifers > 5.6 inches stump diameter) is 6 inches.*

DESIGNATION BY DAMAGE CLASS (DxDAM) UNITS

UNITS
CUTTING DESIGNATION
REQUIREMENTS
92, 93
Dead conifers > 5.6 inch stump diameter
Coarse Woody Debris: leave 3-5 logs/acre in full contact with the ground and not jackstrawed > 10 inches large end diameter, and ≥ 50 linear feet/acre. 3-5 dead trees/acre, meeting these requirements may be felled and left in place to ensure requirements are met.

D. CLIN 0004 DESIGNATION BY SPACING (DxSPA): Cut, Skid, Pile Felling:

All trees are designated for cutting when meeting the minimum specifications for cutting as shown on the tables below and not selected as leave trees. All Appendix B provisions apply.

*Maximum stump height for non-sawtimber trees felled (all conifers > 5.6 inches stump diameter) is 6 inches.*

DESIGNATION BY SPACING (DxSPA) UNITS

UNITS
CUTTING DESIGNATION
REQUIREMENTS
9, 91
Cut all live/dead conifer trees (excluding ES and trees marked with orange or pink paint) > 5.6 inch stump diameter to the following maximum stump diameter: live/dead LP and other conifers (excluding PP) – 7.6 inch, live/dead PP – 9.6 inches
Retain a maximum 15 x 15 foot bole spacing between live conifer leave trees (allowable spacing is 10-15 feet). Live PP trees greater than 9 inches DBH, and all other live conifer species over 7 inches DBH shall be used as the preference for spacing. If these trees are not available, trees with diameters less than listed above shall be left to achieve the desired 15 feet spacing. See species preferences listed below in 2.2.1.

Pile specifications are stated in H.22 Slash Treatment

CUTTING DESIGNATION
REQUIREMENTS
9, 91
Thin live conifer trees 2.0 feet tall to 4.9 inches DBH
Retain a 13 x 13 foot bole spacing (+/- 2.0 feet) from residual trees, using tree characteristics listed below in 2.2.
