Group departed Canyon Lakes Ranger District parking lot for the field at 0810 and arrived at project site at 0940. Forest service personnel and the contractor walked into units 8,9, 10, and 92.

Reviewed contract specification regarding utilization and blowdown timber. Deteriorating or old blowdown that does not meet minimum utilization specifications is not required to be skidded to landing.

A question was asked: What amount of biomass may be lopped and scattered as incidental amounts?

Answer: Incidental amounts of biomass may be lopped and scattered when unable to meet minimum pile size (hand piles). See H.22 Slash Treatment specifications.

In general, this may be interpreted as less than 2 tons per acre when minimum pile size cannot be achieved.

Group departed project area at approximately 1115.
