About this file
This document is an Attachment J3 containing questions for vendors responding to a solicitation for an Oversized 180-degree Book Imaging System for the Library of Congress. The questionnaire seeks detailed information about book cradle specifications, including maximum book size, current federal agency and cultural heritage institution usage, maintenance requirements, and repair history. Vendors are asked to provide specifics on potential onsite demonstrations at the Library of Congress, with options to showcase the scanner's capabilities and discuss technical performance details.
The related federal contract opportunity, solicitation number 030ADV25Q0214, is being issued by the Library of Congress Collections Digitization Division to procure a book cradle system for digitizing collection materials. The solicitation supports the Library's digital strategy of converting various materials like books, manuscripts, maps, and photographs into digital formats. Key dates include offeror questions due by 09/11/2025 at 15:00 PM EDT and responses due by 09/29/2025 at 15:00 PM EDT. The Library also leads the Federal Agencies Digital Guideline Initiative (FADGI) Still Image Working Group, which establishes imaging standards for federal agencies and cultural heritage institutions.
