About this file

This document is a California Civil Rights Certification form for state government contracts over $100,000 executed or renewed after January 1, 2017. The certification requires bidders or proposers to affirm compliance with two key civil rights laws: the Unruh Civil Rights Act and the Fair Employment and Housing Act.

The certification mandates that contractors certify they do not have internal policies discriminating against sovereign nations or peoples recognized by the United States government, and that any such policies would not violate civil rights statutes. Contractors must sign the document under penalty of perjury, providing their firm name, federal ID number, authorized signature, printed name and title, execution date, and county and state of execution. This document serves as a legal attestation of the bidder's commitment to non-discriminatory practices in state contract work.
