About this file
This document is a Navy Ship Repair Specification for Crane and Rigging Services for the USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) in Busan, South Korea, scheduled for 09-13 September 2025. The specification requires a contractor to provide a 100-ton crane with one operator, one signal man, and two riggers for a total of 4 man-days, supporting the rigging of three specific pieces of equipment: a Reverse Osmosis High Pressure Pump, a Seawater Circulating Cooling Pump, and an Electronic Cooling Water Skid Pump and Motor Assembly. The work will be performed across multiple ship locations including Engine Room Number One, Generator Room Number 3, Auxiliary Machinery Room Number One, Pier Side, Flight Deck, and Forecastle.
The contractor must ensure daily safety inspections are performed according to host nation safety standards, provide certifications for crane and rigging equipment safety, conduct pre-use equipment inspections, and submit documentation to the Navy Supervisor. Specific crane requirements include having an anti-two-block device, boom hoist disconnect mechanism, and meeting SAE load stability standards. The rigging services involve removing old equipment, installing new equipment, and assisting ship's force with positioning. All documentation must be submitted within three days of repair completion, and the work is governed by U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) with strict export control provisions.
