About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for replacing an air storage system at the X-31I Inside Machine Shop, Building A-48, Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center (SRF-JRMC) at US Naval Base Yokosuka. The contractor must replace the existing air storage system with a new one capable of storing breathing air at 6,000 psig and 3,000 psig, meeting specifications for diver breathing air per the U.S. Navy Diving Manual and CGA G-7.1 standards. The contractor is responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary to complete the work.
The replacement system requires four ASME-compliant cylinders (500 cubic feet capacity, 6,000 psig rating), with two cylinders designated for the 6,000 psig system and two for the 3,000 psig system. The system must include a cylinder stand with steel enclosure and clear polycarbonate window, a relief valve (Swagelok R Series or equivalent with 3,300 +150/-150 psig set pressure), a regulator set to 4,000 psig, and pressure gauges (0-10,000 psig range, Swagelok B Model or equivalent). All gas-wetted surfaces must be cleaned to ASTM G93 Level C or better and protected with Foreign Material Exclusion closures. The contractor must submit pre-fabrication documents within 25 working days of contract award and completion documents including test certificates, final drawings, technical manuals, and a one-year warranty sheet before delivery. Operational testing will be conducted jointly with the Government's Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) to verify system functionality and integrity.
