About this file

This is a proposal sample document for the County of San Mateo's On Call Graphic Recording Services contract opportunity. The county is seeking proposals from graphic recording firms or consultants to provide visual documentation and synthesis services in support of the County Executive team and future initiatives. The consultants will be expected to collaborate with the County Executive team to develop visual strategies, graphically translate organizational goals, and produce at least one video and visual digital map representing the executive team's objectives. The document explains that San Mateo County operates under Measure K, a voter-approved half-cent sales tax implemented in 2012 that funds local services and community needs through the county budget.

Measure K revenues support a range of county programs including affordable housing, homelessness services, food security, healthcare, childcare, and services for older adults and individuals with disabilities. The sales tax is collected at the point of sale, processed by the State of California, and returned to the county for distribution according to priorities established by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. This funding mechanism provides the financial foundation for the county's operations and the graphic recording services contract opportunity.

Discover how Measure K creates opportunities in our community

San Mateo County Measure K is a voter-approved half-cent sales tax in San Mateo County that took effect in 2012 to fund local services and community needs. The tax is collected the same way as other sales taxes—added to purchases made in the county—and the revenue is first received by the State of California, which processes sales tax collections. The state then returns the Measure K portion to the county government. Funds are distributed through the county budget and guided by priorities approved by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, supporting programs such as affordable housing, homelessness services, food security, healthcare, childcare, and support for older adults and people with disabilities.
