About this file
This document contains two attachments related to scrap metal recycling services at Beale Air Force Base for Fiscal Year 2025.
Attachment I is a pricing template that requires bidders to provide company information (name, address, point of contact, phone, email, and Tax Identification Number) and submit unit prices for six categories of recyclable metals with estimated annual quantities. The recyclable materials include tin (105,483 lbs.), shearable metal (70,376 lbs.), appliances for recycling (8,000 lbs.), lead-acid batteries (18,000 lbs.), stainless steel (2,500 lbs.), and copper wire/copper (15,000 lbs.). Bidders must enter a price per pound for each category and calculate the estimated proposed price to be paid to Beale AFB, with a total price line at the bottom. The document includes a disclaimer that these estimated amounts do not constitute a commitment to provide any specific quantity of recyclable materials.
Attachment II establishes the Scrap Metal Acceptance Policy governing which materials are prohibited and which are acceptable for recycling at Beale AFB. Prohibited items include asbestos, petroleum products, lead-acid batteries, PCB-containing materials, airbags, paint cans, fluorescent lights, hazardous substances, military scrap (unless pre-approved), uncertified tanks and vessels, circuit boards, mercury switches, compressed gas cylinders, engine oil filters, explosives, non-metallic materials, and radioactive materials. Acceptable items include appliances that meet specified requirements, tanks and containers that are thoroughly cleaned to DTSC and EPA standards with triple-rinsing certification and inspection openings, and gas cylinders that have been cut in half.
