About this file
The document is an Accelerated Award Option Election and Attestation Form for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) Office-wide Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). This optional form allows proposers to expedite their award process for research projects not exceeding $2,000,000, with DARPA committing to award a contract or Other Transaction (OT) agreement within 30 days of selection notification. Proposers must meet specific stipulations to qualify, including having an unclassified effort, providing unlimited or government purpose rights for data and software, submitting a cost proposal spreadsheet, and including substantiating documentation for all proposed cost elements.
The associated federal grant opportunity is part of DARPA's Research and Technology Development program (CFDA 12.910), which supports innovative, high-risk research across scientific and technological domains. The program funds fundamental and applied research at educational institutions, nonprofits, and commercial firms, focusing on developing transformative defense capabilities. Funding instruments include cooperative agreements and procurement contracts, with typical award amounts ranging from $125,000 to $14,997,315 and performance periods of 9 to 36 months. The program seeks revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems for national security applications, explicitly excluding research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to existing practices.

Attachment I Accelerated Award Option Election and Attestation Form
DARPA has recognized a benefit in getting awards under the Defense Sciences Office (DSO) Office-wide BAA executed as rapidly as possible, as these efforts often serve as valuable foundational “seedlings” for future DSO programs. Because earlier awards almost certainly would benefit proposers as well, proposers may select an Accelerated Award Option as part of their full proposal submissions for efforts that do not exceed $2,000,000. This would allow proposers to agree in advance to prescribed terms and conditions in exchange for DARPA’s commitment to award the contract, Other Transaction (OT) for Research agreement, Other Transaction (OT) for Prototypes agreement no later than 30 days after the proposer’s receipt of selection notification.
Any proposer that is interested in this accelerated award option must provide the attestation below, to be completed and signed by an individual authorized to bind the organization. Should any of the stipulations below not be honored by a proposer or subcontractor, DARPA will revoke its commitment to an accelerated award.
