About this file
This document is a Vendor Self-Certification form for Military Standard 129R (MIL-STD-129R) Marking and Shipping Label Requirements, dated November 2014. The document details comprehensive guidelines for marking and labeling shipping containers for military logistics, including specific requirements for unit, intermediate, and exterior containers. Key requirements include:
Mandatory label elements for containers such as NSN/NATO stock number, CAGE code, part number, item description, quantity, contract number, preservation method, shelf life, and serial numbers. The document emphasizes the critical importance of accurate Military Shipping Labels (MSLs), noting that improper labeling can cause significant shipping delays at Department of Defense freight facilities. Vendors must comply with precise bar code and text marking specifications, with a warning that remarking non-compliant shipments can incur a minimum charge of $220.00 (first hour at $150 and each additional hour at $70). The document includes visual examples of proper labeling and bar code configurations, and requires vendor signature acknowledging understanding and commitment to full compliance.
