About this file

This document provides detailed guidance on the production credits for a National Park Service (NPS) film project. It specifies requirements for the formatting and style of credits, including the use of sans-serif fonts, consistent formatting, and the avoidance of contractor logos or rolling credits. The document outlines the typical sections for closing credits, such as director, writers, producers, cast, and technical crew, and notes that the production company can determine the specific individuals to highlight. It also provides guidance on additional credits, such as for the NPS, Harpers Ferry Center, and any other relevant parties or resources. The document emphasizes the need to ensure legibility and limit the total number of credit slides to approximately 8.

This guidance appears to be related to the federal contract opportunity for an "INTERPRETIVE FILM FOR GEORGE WASHINGTON BIRTHPLACE NATIONAL MONUMENT," with Solicitation Number 140P2124R0044, issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service.

Specifications for NPS Films Production Credits General guidelines:

· No rolling credits.

· No contractor company logos.

· Use a sans-serif font that are a consistent thickness, and not too thin (such as Frutiger or Arial).

· Formatting text by changing the weight or using capitalization can make it easier to absorb the credits. If doing this, use the smaller, thinner, and/or capitalized version for the titles, and the more legible larger, bolder, and/or standard caps formatting for the names.

· Simple credits can be centered (GEGR example, pg 4). More complex credits also generally benefit from a justification that organizes the information (JECA example, pg 4)

· For readability, use a color that is not 100% white.

· Visuals can appear on the screen with the type, but the type should generally not be placed over the visuals.
