About this file
This is a pricing page attachment for a competitive sealed bid issued by the Mississippi Department of Transportation for rock salt delivery services. The contract runs through November 30, 2027, with a bid opening scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM CST and a deadline for questions on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM CST. The procurement covers the supply of industrial rock salt (sodium chloride) in two formats: bulk quantities delivered via truck to MDOT storage sites across seven districts, and 50-pound bags that must be moisture-proof delivered on non-returnable pallets. Delivery locations span across Mississippi including sites in Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7, with specific storage points identified in cities such as Tupelo, Jackson, Hattiesburg, and McComb. Contractors must specify their proposed delivery timeframe in hours following order receipt, with the understanding that MDOT reserves the right to purchase rock salt on the open market and charge contractors the cost difference if delivery deadlines are not met.
Pricing shall be submitted on a per-ton basis for bulk truck delivery and per-bag basis for packaged salt, with all prices quoted F.O.B. to MDOT storage sites on contractor-supplied trucks at no additional reimbursement for delivery costs. Contractors must provide a specific plant location and indicate a discount percentage applicable to invoices paid at the next regular Transportation Commission meeting following delivery and invoice receipt. The award will be made to all responsive bidders meeting specifications, allowing MDOT to source from multiple contractors as needed for operational requirements.
