About this file

This is a set of architectural plans and drawings for a Window Restoration Project at the Maud Williamson State Recreation Site in Salem, Oregon, managed by the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department. The project involves the complete restoration of all windows in a historic property and includes the fabrication and installation of wood storm windows with push-out hardware. The project plans contain detailed elevations showing all window locations (labeled N1.1-W2.3), floor plans, and a roof plan. The work must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

The scope requires extensive restoration work including stripping windows to bare wood, repairing window sashes, jambs, sills and trim, salvaging and reusing original hardware where possible, reinstalling glazing with proper bedding, and painting both interior and exterior surfaces. The project includes detailed technical specifications for storm window construction and installation, with requirements for operable push-out ventilation hardware. The plans include a comprehensive window schedule listing dimensions and types (double-hung vs. fixed) for all windows, with sizes ranging from 21 to 72 inches in height and 23 to 32 inches in width. Special attention is noted for an attic window that must be accessed from the exterior due to interior inaccessibility.
