About this file
This document is a Local Preference Program attachment from the City of Long Beach designed to provide preferential scoring consideration to local businesses participating in competitive solicitations.
The program provides five extra credit percentage points to all businesses that maintain their principal place of business within the City of Long Beach and possess current City business licenses and sellers permits, if applicable. An additional five percentage points are awarded to local businesses operating from brick and mortar or non-residential commercial locations, allowing qualified businesses to receive up to ten total preference points. To claim local preference, businesses must certify their eligibility in Attachment C and submit copies of their current City of Long Beach business license showing a place of business within city limits and a current seller's permit (sales tax permit) if applicable. Businesses must also identify the address associated with their business license and indicate whether the location is a brick and mortar/commercial/non-residential location or a residential location.
The provision requires businesses to complete a certification form including their business license number, seller's permit number, and principal place of business address. Failure to complete the local preference section results in ineligibility for preference points. The document serves as a standardized template (v2.2.22) for solicitation packages and requires authorized signature and date upon submission.
