About this file

This is a cemetery site-specific information and maps appendix for Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The document provides detailed specifications for monument types, inscription requirements, and operational parameters for contractors performing work at the facility.

The cemetery is located at 7601 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55450-1199, with Director Marshall Murphy and a point of contact (ACOR) to be determined. Four primary monument types are specified: granite thin flat markers with 3-inch inscriptions (Product Code J1), niche covers with inscription scenarios (Product Code I1), upright marble headstones measuring 13" x 42" x 4" (Product Code U1/R2), and inscription specifications for letters, fonts, numbers, and other characters. Multiple emblem of belief designs are available (Product Code EMBLEMS) with various revision dates through January 2025. All contractor work must be performed Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. local time, excluding federal holidays, with a standard 8-hour, 5-day work week requirement. Work during non-duty hours, weekends, or holidays requires written approval from the cemetery director and ACOR at no additional cost to the Government, and such arrangements cannot substitute for regular weekly work requirements. Reverse inscriptions may be performed at the gravesite within the cemetery property, with contractors requiring cemetery-ensured access to perform inscription operations.
