About this file

This is an Insurance Requirements Schedule from the Nevada Risk Management Division, 2nd Edition (effective May 9, 2016), applicable to standard professional service contracts with the State of Nevada, Highway Patrol. The document establishes mandatory insurance coverage requirements that contractors and subcontractors must procure and maintain throughout the duration of contract performance, including any warranty periods. The insurance requirements serve as minimum thresholds and do not limit indemnity obligations or prevent contractors from obtaining additional coverage as deemed necessary. Contractors must provide Commercial General Liability coverage with a general aggregate limit of $2,000,000 and each occurrence limit of $1,000,000; Automobile Liability coverage with a combined single limit of $1,000,000 for owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles; Worker's Compensation and Employers' Liability coverage with statutory limits and per-accident limits of $100,000; and Professional Liability (Errors and Omissions) coverage with per-claim limits of $1,000,000 and annual aggregate limits of $2,000,000. All policies must name the State of Nevada as an additional insured and include waivers of subrogation.

Certificates of insurance on ACORD forms or equivalent must be received and approved by the State before work commences and must remain in effect throughout the project duration. All insurers must be duly licensed or authorized to conduct business in Nevada with an A.M. Best rating of not less than A-VII. Contractors must provide thirty days' prior written notice of cancellation or suspension (ten days for non-payment of premium) to the designated State representative. Failure to maintain required insurance coverage or provide evidence of renewal constitutes material breach of contract. Contractors must ensure all subcontractors are included as additional insureds under the primary contractor's policies or provide separate certificates and endorsements for each subcontractor. The Risk Management Division or Attorney General's Office retains authority to approve any modifications or variations from stated insurance requirements through administrative action without formal contract amendment.
