About this file
The document is a comprehensive technical specification file for the City of Aurora's Courts Post 911 Security Upgrades - Package 1 Jury Assembly Break Room Upgrades project. The scope of work includes selective demolition to create a new cased opening between the Jury Assembly Room and Break Room, involving removal of an existing partition, installation of a structural header, and matching framing and finishes. The project encompasses renovating the coffee/kitchen area for ADA compliance, installing new base and wall cabinets, solid surface countertops and backsplash, an accessible sink, plumbing modifications, and a bottle-filling station. Additionally, the project involves reconstructing two single-user restrooms to meet current ADA standards, potentially expanding the existing footprint to achieve required clearances. Supplementary work includes security camera system upgrades, fire alarm device installations, break room flooring replacement, and infilling an existing break room entry/exit door opening.
The technical specifications provide detailed requirements for materials, installation methods, and quality standards across multiple divisions including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. The project appears to be funded by the City of Aurora and will require compliance with various building codes, accessibility standards, and municipal regulations. The specifications outline specific product requirements, installation procedures, testing protocols, and performance expectations for each component of the renovation. Contractors will need to adhere to strict guidelines for materials selection, installation techniques, and finish quality, with an emphasis on ADA compliance, security upgrades, and maintaining the functional integrity of the courthouse facilities during the renovation process.
