Statement of Need Background:
The North Florida/South Georgia VA Healthcare System Office of Communication Service (Medical Media) has a requirement to replace two (2) large format printers that have reached end-of-life.
A newer technology that allows printing and cutting simultaneously that will ensure proper sizing, ergonomic for the employee, and more efficiency for work orders coming in. The Lake City VA Medical Center and the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center requires one (1) large format printer that has capability to print and cut simultaneously each. In addition, each location requires ink for large format printers: (QTY
2) for each color: Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta.
Salient Characteristics: Offerors shall meet or exceed the following:
• Prints with vivid colors, smooth gradients, and sharp text with increased print speeds for efficiency of up to 150 sq ft/hr (14 sq m/hr) in a standard 6-pass mode.
• Printers shall be able to print and cut simultaneously.
• Prints on a wide range of substrates, including vinyl, canvas, paper, and textiles.
• Includes simple finishing, lamination, and installation with flexible inks and prints that come out dry versus wet and needing time to dry before moving, shifting, or continuing to work with the product.
• Print resolution: Minimum reach 1200 x 1200 dpi.
• Ink cartridges include (qty 2 each) black, cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, and yellow.
• Enabled remote monitoring and cloud-based applications for printing/cutting.
• Printers to include automatic maintenance processes and user-replaceable printheads for ease of use.
• Printers/Cutter to provide fast and automated front-loading system saving time and space.
• Cutter capability shall be compatible with vinyl, banners, canvas, paper-based media and film.
• Storage capabilities of 10 GB within the printer to orchestrate reprint projects.
• Shall have feature accurate job recognition and error-free cutting.
• Based on limited space due to office configurations, the size of the printer should not exceed 2650mm
X 900mm X 1450 mm.
• Weight of printer and cutter not to exceed 1,000lbs.
• Operating Temperature should be within 55 - 90 degrees F
