STATEMENT OF NEED

1. BACKGROUND: The Sterile Processing Service at Malcom Randall VA Medical Center (VAMC), Gainesville, FL has a need for twelve (12) Brand Name or Equal Scope Buddy Plus devices to support endoscope cleaning and flushing.

2. PURPOSE: This Statement of Need (SON) defines the requirements for the Scope Buddy Plus. The device is a fully automated endoscope flushing aid which creates a consistent and reliable means to flush endoscope channels. The endoscope cleaning and flushing system provides enhanced data monitoring and features automated detergent dosing and disposable tubing sets to support cleaning consistency. Having functional scope reprocessing equipment prevents delays and/or cancellations in patient care.

3. SCOPE: The Contractor shall provide and deliver the Scope Buddy Plus devices in accordance with the period of performance and place of delivery within the contract. Scope includes the assembly and delivery of the product.

4. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Referenced model: STERIS, Scope Buddy Plus. Product MUST meet the following specifications and requirements. See referenced part number below.

1. Scope Buddy Plus (P/N: SBP1000) (EA.12)

a. Disposable 24-Hour Tubing and Hookups

· Eliminates Decontamination of Tubing and most Olympus Hookups with OPA.

· Reduce cross contamination.

· Hands free flushing reducing staff injuries.

b. Exterior Pump Head

· Eliminates Decontamination of Pump with OPA.

c. Scanning Gun

· Accounts for Track and Trace of Endoscope during the entire manual cleaning step.

d. Automatic Doser

· Doses sink.

· Doses Clean Container.

e. Dual Temperature Probes

· Ensures Correct temp of water in sink.

· Ensure Correct temp of water in clean container.

f. Two-way Pump

· Automatically does the aspiration step and eliminates need for suction at sink.

g. LCD Touch Screen

· Automatically walks end user through entire manual cleaning process.

h. Must be compatible with North Florida/South Georgia VA Healthcare System Olympus Scopes and use an approved detergent by NF/SG VA Healthcare System.

5. WARRANTY: Industry standard manufacturer warranty and service plans if available shall be included to cover all equipment. Government does not accept extended warranty, which requires advance payment.

6. DELIVERY SCHEDULE: All items to be delivered within the performance period as stated on the contract after receipt of purchase order and award.

7. SETUP AND TRANINIG: N/A

8. PLACE OF DELIVERY: Delivery hours are between 8:00AM to 4:00PM EST, Monday – Friday (Excluding National Holidays). Delivery will be to the following addresses:
