About this file

This document is an Attachment B - Special Conditions for Meat solicitation (RFx No. 3000025591) for the Department of Corrections (DOC-PE), specifically focusing on chicken leg quarters, livers, and gizzards. The special conditions outline precise requirements for chicken product procurement, mandating that the chickens must be disease-free, in prime condition, and processed according to sound operating procedures. The product specifications require chickens to be solidly frozen, blast frozen at delivery, maintained at no higher than 10 degrees Fahrenheit, and packed in plastic-lined boxes on standard 40" x 48" non-exchangeable pallets.

The procurement details specify packaging requirements, including that each box must be monofilament taped or plastic banded with the packing date marked in the upper right-hand corner. The document emphasizes product quality standards, requiring chickens to show no signs of emaciation, disease, defrosting, or refreezing. While specific quantities and pricing are not detailed in this attachment, the document provides critical technical specifications for potential vendors preparing to bid on this meat supply contract for the corrections department.
