Attachment B- Sample Memorandum of Understanding
SAMPLE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
Title of Grant
For the Period of Performance
September 30, 2019 through September 30, 2022
This Memorandum of Understanding sets forth the role and responsibilities of the XXXXX, School Food Authority (SFA) participating in the Team Nutrition Training Grant for Innovative State Training Programs, for the period of performance of September 30, 2019 through September 30, 2022.
The purpose of this FY 2019 Team Nutrition Training Grant for Innovative State Training Programs is to identify and support the expansion of existing State-developed training programs that are designed to improve school nutrition professionals’ knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy related to school meal quality.
Activities under this grant are clearly aligned to the three objectives below.
Objectives
1. Expand State-developed training programs to increase school nutrition professionals’ knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy related to school meal quality.
2. Engage school nutrition professionals in implementing strategies to improve school meal quality or students’ perceptions of school meal quality.
3. Increase State agency capacity to deliver training to school nutrition professionals.
This grant enables States to:
• Expand the reach of their professional development training for school nutrition professionals.
• Award sub-grants to support training delivery and the implementation of meal quality improvement strategies by training participants.
• Evaluate their training program on a larger scale to determine if objectives are met and how improvements may be made.
• Receive recognition for grant activities in FNS presentations, reports, social media, etc.
The SFA agrees to fully participate and complete the required activities outline in the State’s Innovative State Training Program grant proposal and this document.
Attachment B- Sample MOU
The SFA agrees to the following:
1. To participate in scheduled workshops, trainings, activities, and follow-ups through the State-developed training program to improve school meal quality.
2. To participate in an evaluation of grant activities with the social scientist and State Agency.
3. The SFA agrees to have _____ (number) of school nutrition professionals to participate in the Innovative State Training Program.
Both parties agree to adhere to the items outlined in this MOU, throughout the period of performance of the Innovative State Training Program.
