Resources

Activities

•Describe the activities that are included in the State-developed training program:

•Recruit school nutrition professionalsto participate in training

•Deliver training program designed to improve school nutrition professionals’ knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy related to school meal quality

•Provide follow-up and technical assistance to participants as they implement new strategies to improve school meal quality or students' perceptions of school meal quality

•Award sub-grants to support the implementation of strategies to improve school meal quality

•Showcase success stories through various channels to promote success stories.

Outputs

•List the direct tangible results of the activities. These may also be seen as indicators of progress:

•Number of school meal quality trainings coducted for school nutrition professionals

•Increased engagement of school nutrition professionals implementatng promising strategies to improve school meal quality or students' perceptions of school meal quality

•Identification of barriers and challenges to expanding the State-developed training program

•Increased promotion of promising strategies to improve school meal quality throughout the state

Long-Term Outcomes

•Desired results of the State-developed training program that may be fully accomplished after the grant period:

•Increased State agency capacity to deliver school meal qualtiy training to school nutrition professionals

•Improved school meal quality

•Improved students' perceptions of school meal quality

•Increased promotion of effective training program improve school meal quality throughout the state

Team Nutrition Training Grants: Innovative State Training Program

Sample Logic Model

Below is a sample of a basic logic model that describes the resources, activities, outputs, and outcomes for a State -developed school meal quality training program. Because each State-developed training program is unique, additional elements may need to be added to this sample logic model. This sample should serve as a guide to developing a one-page logic model that complements the project narrative , and is useful in clarifying program activities and anticipated outcomes of the State -developed training program.
