About this file

The document is an Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Template that outlines comprehensive safety guidelines for workplace hazard management. The template requires detailed protocols for management commitment, employee compliance, safety communications, hazard identification, accident investigation, corrective actions, and safety training. Key requirements include establishing clear responsibilities, implementing a communication system that encourages hazard reporting without fear of reprisal, conducting periodic workplace inspections, documenting accident investigations, and maintaining training and inspection records.

Specific safety provisions include stopping work when wind speeds exceed 14 MPH in areas with standing snags, providing training for new employees and when new processes or equipment are introduced, and ensuring supervisors understand potential workplace hazards. The template mandates a documentation system that tracks inspection records, training records, and accident reports. This template is designed to create a comprehensive approach to workplace safety, with an emphasis on proactive hazard prevention, employee training, and systematic documentation of safety-related activities.

MANAGEMENT COMMITMENT/

ASSIGNMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The person or persons with the authority and responsibility for your Injury and Illness Prevention Program must be identified and given management’s full support.

This commitment must be backed by strong organizational policies, procedures, incentives, and disciplinary actions as necessary to ensure employee compliance with safe and healthful work practices.

PROCEDURES FOR IDENTIFYING

& EVALUATING HAZARDS

Include procedures for identifying and evaluating workplace hazards including scheduled periodic inspections to identify unsafe conditions and work practices.

Inspections shall be made to identify and evaluate hazards. Wind speed or gusts over 14MPH in standing snags is considered a hazard and work shall stop and continue where snags are not present, or the wind is less.

CORRECTIVE ACTIONS

Include methods and/or procedures for correcting unsafe or unhealthy conditions, work practices and work procedures in a timely manner based on the severity of the hazard.

SAFETY AND HEALTH TRAINING

SYSTEM OF DOCUMENTATION

AND RECORDKEEPING

Records of the steps taken to implement and maintain the IIPP shall include inspection records, training records, accident investigation reports, reportable accidents, etc.
