About this file
This document is an exterior painting specification (Attachment B) for the Pratt Engineering House project (NELTRAC900000), involving a comprehensive painting scope for a specific property. The project encompasses exterior painting of concrete surfaces, metal siding, and miscellaneous wood components, with specific requirements for surface preparation, paint application, and restoration. The specification outlines detailed painting procedures using products from manufacturers like Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, PPG, and Pratt & Lambert, with a three-coat application process for different substrate types including concrete/brick, metal siding, and wood surfaces.
The specification provides a structured approach to painting, including moisture content requirements, surface preparation guidelines, and specific product recommendations. The paint system emphasizes material compatibility, VOC content compliance, and precise application techniques to ensure a high-quality finish. Color selection will be determined by the owner from the manufacturer's full range, and the contractor is responsible for comprehensive site preparation, including removing rotted wood, replacing shutters, and maintaining a clean work environment. The specification does not include specific pricing details or funding sources but provides a technical framework for executing the exterior painting project with professional standards.
