About this file
This document is an Attachment B for an Agricultural/Wildlife & Habitat Land Lease for the Shelbyville State Fish and Wildlife Area, Lease #24AL2095, issued by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The lease requires the tenant to follow a detailed cropping plan for the fields from 2024-2027, including planting specific crops such as sunflowers, corn, and soybeans, as well as cover crops on designated fields. The tenant is prohibited from using certain pesticides and herbicides, and must leave a portion of the crops standing for wildlife. IDNR may require the tenant to leave all or a portion of the crops unharvested. Non-adherence to the cropping plan may result in termination of the lease.
The lease covers 209.60 total acres across multiple fields in Moultrie County, Illinois. The tenant is responsible for purchasing, planting, and terminating cover crops, as well as applying specified fertilizers and chemicals per the lease requirements. Rent will be due per the agreed upon rate, and IDNR may withhold rent if the tenant fails to comply with the cropping plan instructions.
