About this file
This is a Scope of Work document from the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) outlining a training program for crash investigation. The project aims to provide specialized crash investigation training to NHP Troopers and Sergeants to enhance their knowledge and abilities in collecting acceleration rates, road surface friction values, and determining crash causation. The training must be completed before September 20, 2025, and can be conducted either on-site or virtually using NHP facilities. The program focuses on training officers to use the vendor's equipment and software, conduct real-life skid and acceleration testing, produce comprehensive investigation reports, and prepare for courtroom testimony.
The document specifically notes that NHP facilities will be used for an in-kind match, suggesting this is part of a cost-sharing arrangement. No specific pricing terms, funding amounts, or set-asides are mentioned in the scope. The project appears to be part of the Division's ongoing investment in its mission and responsibility to investigate serious injury and fatality crashes.

Description of Scope of Work:
Project Goals:
The primary goal of this project is to offer Crash Investigation Training to the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) Troopers and Sergeants in an effort to enhance their collective knowledge, investigatory abilities, and experience to include collection of acceleration rates, road surface friction values, and crash causation. Within this goal lies the Divisions continued investment in its mission, succession and responsibility to victims to investigate serious injury and fatality crash based on their enhanced investigatory abilities.
1. Project Objectives: Upon completion of the training, Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers and Sergeants will have a comprehensive understanding of the vendor's training system and its uses to gain knowledge for more in-depth investigations.
The objectives are:
- Increase the number of Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers and Sergeants trained in the vendor's training system equipment and software.
- Prepare the trained students for real-life skid testing and acceleration testing using the vendor's training system.
- Prepare the trained students to produce comprehensive reports that can be included in their investigation reports, showing accurate drag factors, friction values, or acceleration rates for the specific road surface involved in their crashes.
- Prepare the trained students for courtroom testimony on the use and application of the vendor's training system.
2. Timeline:
The training should be scheduled and completed prior to September 20, 2025. The training can be on-site or virtual, using NHP facilities, for the in-kind match.
