The project requires the contractor to supply all labor, materials, equipment, mobilization, machinery, and traffic control for repairing and resealing cracks in flexible pavements. Work is limited to cracks measuring one-quarter inch or wider, excluding portions under that width, and must be sealed only between fog lines. The contractor must be capable of preparing and sealing approximately 10,000 linear feet per 10-hour shift. A preconstruction conference must be held with Project Manager Ramon Alonso at a mutually agreed time, and work shall commence within 10 working days of receiving the Notice to Proceed. The project schedule must account for orderly, timely, and efficient completion within the specified contract time. Traffic control operations are restricted to single-lane flagger-controlled closures between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no delays to over-dimensional loads exceeding 20 minutes.
Payment for all work is included in bid items contained in the Bid Schedule and constitutes full compensation for all materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. There is no retainage on payments, and the contractor shall be paid upon completion of contract work upon submission of a bill to the Project Manager that includes the standard certification statement. Measurement for payment purposes is calculated in miles of full-width traveled way with all crack sealing completed as specified, with payment made at the contract unit price per mile. The contractor is responsible for cleanup and removal or disposal of all materials used on the project, including hazardous materials containers, in accordance with all local, state, and federal guidelines.
