About this file
This document is a conceptual site layout map for the City of Tybee Island, Georgia's Solomon Avenue Linear Park project, which illustrates the proposed development design as of December 31, 2025. The park plan includes multiple amenities and features designated across the approximately 12-acre site, including vehicular parking areas, bike racks, a little library, picnic tables on compressed aggregate material, an accessible 12-foot multi-use pathway, a pollinator wildflower garden developed in collaboration with Savannah Bee Company, natural earth berms, a marsh overlook, local art installations, benches with receptacles, natural wooded pathways, a boardwalk over wetland areas, small and large dog parks, a disc golf course, and a fenced lay-down yard for project stockpiling. The design preserves existing vegetation, marsh areas, and mature trees throughout the site while incorporating informational signage regarding the site's history as a former railroad and trash reclamation area. The layout is positioned along Solomon Avenue and Fort Avenue, with reference points to Polk Street and is drawn to a scale of 1 inch equals 30 feet.
The map serves as an illustrative concept for discussion purposes only and does not bind the owner or developer to the specific design elements shown. All dimensions, boundaries, and positional locations are subject to verification through an accurate survey and property description, and the plan is subject to change and revision without prior written notice. The related bid solicitation ITB2026-111 specifically addresses the installation of fencing for the small and large dog park areas, with bids due by 2:00 PM on October 20, 2026, submitted to Aleesha Robinson at Tybee Island City Hall. No pre-proposal meeting is scheduled, and the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, negotiate directly with bidders, or award to the proposal deemed most advantageous to the City's interests.
