About this file
This document is a detailed specification for a Loader/Backhoe procurement by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). The specification outlines requirements for a 4-wheel drive loader/backhoe with an extendable dipper stick, targeting the purchase of approximately 2 units within the first year and potentially 2 additional units during the remainder of the contract period. The document provides comprehensive technical specifications covering warranty, weight, engine performance, transmission, steering, tires, cab features, instrumentation, loader and backhoe capabilities, and training requirements. CDOT seeks a new, most current model loader/backhoe that meets specific SAE standards and includes features such as EPA Final Tier 4 emissions certification, full power steering, dual entry cab, and comprehensive warranty coverage.
The procurement includes detailed pricing and optional equipment considerations, with all bids required to be FOB destination and freight included. The specification emphasizes the importance of parts availability, with the successful bidder expected to maintain a 95% parts inventory within Colorado and provide warranty parts within 24 hours. Additional requirements include providing comprehensive documentation (parts, shop, service, and operator manuals), a preventive maintenance schedule covering ten years or 5000 hours, and factory-supported technician training. The document allows for optional equipment such as front limited slip differential, quick coupler, additional buckets, and extended warranty, with CDOT specifying a particular orange color (DuPont Dulux AH 31/Dietzler, 60156 Tangiers Orange) for the equipment.
