About this file

This is a Statement of Work for machining ASTM E647 Compact Tension specimens from cast Nickel Aluminum Bronze material. Metal blanks measuring 4x3.85x1 inches will be delivered on pallets in multiple boxes and must be machined according to specifications shown on the attached technical drawing. The material contains visible porosity in some blanks, which is noted as a cautionary consideration for the machining process.

The contractor must maintain the notch orientation as indicated by the drawing outline attached to each blank and preserve the sample identification names throughout final machining. Each of the 24 samples (CT-LR1, CT-LR2, CT-LR3, CT-LR10, CT-LR11, CT-LR12, CT-CR1, CT-CR2, CT-CR6, CT-CR10, CT-CR11, CT-CR12, CT-CLR4, CT-CLR5, CT-CLR6, CT-CCR4, CT-CCR5, CT-CCR6, CT-TLR4, CT-TLR5, CT-TLR6, CT-TCR4, CT-TCR5, and CT-TCR6) must be labeled with its sample name and individually bagged after machining. Sample identification stamping or engraving is permitted only on the faces indicated by arrows on the technical drawing. Blank numbers are sequential for identification purposes only and should not be used for final labeling.
