About this file
This is a Scope of Work and Specification document for Building Renovations at the Cardinal Shehan Center, located at 1494 Main Street, issued by the City of Bridgeport Housing & Community Development Department. The project involves comprehensive renovation work across multiple areas of the facility, including replacing eighteen double-hung windows with new vinyl windows, installing approximately 80 linear feet of leaders, replacing rubber mats, chairs, padding, vinyl flooring, tiling in the boy's locker room, lighting, acoustical ceiling, and bathroom refinishing. The renovation scope covers roughly 1,200 square feet of flooring and includes specific requirements for materials, installation techniques, and aesthetic matching of existing building elements.
The document requires contractors to provide detailed line-item pricing for each renovation component, with an emphasis on using specific materials like Home Depot Life Proof Rigid Core Luxury Vinyl Flooring and ensuring professional installation following manufacturer recommendations. Contractors must secure necessary permits, maintain insurance, adhere to OSHA safety standards, and follow state and local building codes. The project includes a one-year warranty on all work, materials, and labor, and strictly prohibits direct negotiations with homeowners. While specific funding sources are not detailed, the document indicates this is a publicly funded project requiring Davis Bacon Wage standards, with a mandatory site visit scheduled for February 11, 2024, to help bidders accurately assess the project scope.
