STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
Repair Pattern Shop 21W, B101
PREPARED BY AFRL/RIOC
AIR FORCE RESEARCH LABORATORY
ROME RESEARCH SITE
ROME, NEW YORK
PROJECT NR: ULDF230002 DATED: July 24, 2024
1.01 SCOPE
A. The work covered under this contract consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, devices, materials, and performing all work required to repair the Wood Pattern Shop at Building 101. Work shall only include the areas indicated on the drawings. All work shall be done in accordance with current applicable codes, this statement of work, the drawings, and specifications.
1.02 LOCATION
A. The work area is in Building 101, Rome Research Site, Rome, New York.
1.03 PRINCIPAL FEATURES
A. Provide temporary dust partitions / security partitions around the work areas as required, and at exterior wall work. Adjacent areas will be occupied during construction.
Partitions shall be of non-combustible framing material with hard wall sheathing installed to include framed closure at the top; install min. 6 mil flame retardant polyethylene with taped seams and edges; secured adequately to prevent migration of dust and/or weather.
B. Provide for asbestos abatement and demolition removals as indicated in the construction documents.
C. Provide for General Construction and doors, frames, and hardware as indicated in the construction documents.
D. Remove and install Mechanical items as indicated below and shown on drawings.
a. Remove and dispose of existing ductwork and diffusers in the Wood Pattern
Shop.
b. Provide and install new, appropriately sized ductwork and diffusers as shown on the drawings, and as required to supply ventilation air and heat to the occupied zone at floor level.
c. Provide complete balancing of installed ductwork and diffusers in the work area.

1.04 GENERAL NOTES
A. Contractor to verify all dimensions and field conditions prior to beginning construction and notify the Contracting Officer and RIOC immediately of any discrepancies.
B. The Contractor shall at all times, keep existing exits free and clear of debris.
C. The Contractor shall protect all existing conditions to remain and repair all damage promptly to original condition.
D. Provide firestopping at all penetrations at rated wall assemblies.
E. Coordinate work with all other disciplines.
F. Patch all holes in walls, floor and ceilings created by removals.
G. All dimensions are from finish surface or existing structure.
H. Clean area during the work and upon completion and prepare space for occupants.
I. If materials suspected of containing hazardous and/or asbestos materials are encountered, do not disturb, notify Contracting Officer and RIOC immediately upon discovery.
J. The locations of all items shown on the drawings that are not definitely fixed by dimensions are approximate only. The exact locations necessary to secure the best conditions and results must be determined by the project site conditions and shall have the approval of the construction inspector before being installed.
K. Contract document drawings for Mechanical, Fire Protection and Electrical work are diagrammatic and are intended to convey scope and general arrangement only. It is the contractor’s responsibility to verify existing field conditions prior to construction.
L. The above description of work is for the purpose of general information only and is not intended to include and describe every feature of work or to define the scope of the work.
1.05 SUBMITTALS
1. Submit prior to delivery and installation:
A. Detailed Construction Schedule B. Product Data / Shop Drawings / Submittals - including but not limited to:
a. Asbestos Abatement submittals
b. Steel Fabrications
c. Doors, Frames, and Hardware
d. Insulated Metal Panel and accessories
e. Ductwork, Diffusers and Grilles
f. Exit sign / Exterior light
g. SDS for any potentially Hazardous Materials
