January 23, 2023 Dixie National Forest RE: Kitty Hawk Geotechnical Report Update Memo

This memo is to provide the results of an additional soils investigation performed at the property located at 1770 West Kitty Hawk Drive in Cedar City, Utah on January 17, 2023. The objectives of this additional investigation was to determine the depth to gravel within the area of the proposed office trailer and green houses. Three additional testpits (TP‐4, 5, 6) were excavated at the locations shown on the Testpit Location Map below. The surficial silts and sands at the site were found to be collapsible.

It is recommended that the foundations be placed directly on native gravel or on properly compacted imported gravel that extends to native gravels. Depths from the surface to observed native sandy gravels are shown in Table 1 below. Testpit pictures are also attached.
