About this file
This is a technical deficiency report documenting electrical infrastructure issues identified in a Generator Building. The primary deficiency involves Panel 'C', where the feeder for circuit C1 (fitted with Polaris connectors) is improperly landed on the main lugs alongside incoming power from the inverter, creating a safety and code compliance violation. The feeder should have its own dedicated breaker for proper isolation and protection.
The report recommends replacing Panel 'C' due to its age and condition, noting multiple plugged holes that limit functionality. Additionally, the document identifies an opportunity for optimization: the feeders for circuits C1 and C2 between Panel 'C' and the exterior splice cabinet (gutter) are oversized relative to the 60-ampere breakers currently in service and could potentially be downsized. The report includes photographic documentation of the deficient panel connections and a one-line diagram showing the existing MACB (Main Automated Control Building) configuration in the Generator Building, supporting the technical findings and recommendations for remediation work.

Deficiency found - Panel ‘C’ in Generator Building
Currently the feeder for C1 (the wire that we added polaris connectors to) is landed on the main lugs with the incoming power from the inverter. It should have its own breaker.
We recommend replacing Panel ‘C’ as part of any further work here. It is old and has many plugged holes. Possibly the feeders for C1 and C2 could be downsized between ‘C’ and the exterior splice cabinet (gutter), currently they are oversized for the 60A breakers being used.
