About this file
This is a guidance document explaining how to conduct a "Statewide Coverage" analysis for the APEX Accelerator Program funding opportunity. The document provides step-by-step instructions for retrieving and analyzing labor force data to demonstrate compliance with statewide coverage requirements, which mandate service to at least 50% of a state's counties and 75% of the state's labor force.
The document shows how to use the Bureau of Labor Statistics website (www.bls.gov) to gather required data, including detailed screenshots of the data retrieval process for both statewide and county-level statistics. It includes an example using Virginia data, showing how to compile annual labor force statistics and calculate coverage percentages. The document includes a final template for presenting the analysis results, where applicants must calculate and report the percentage of counties served and percentage of total state labor force covered by their proposed APEX Accelerator services.
