About this file
This is a map document produced by Sarasota County Geographic Information Systems depicting Waterway Zone 3 and associated tasks for a navigational aid repair project in Sarasota County, Florida. The map illustrates three designated task areas within County waterways, specifically identifying zones across Roberts Bay, Sarasota Bay, and related channels. The map was generated on December 17, 2025, using aerial imagery provided by Pictometry International from December 1, 2024, through January 13, 2025, with 3-inch resolution. The project involves replacement of six navigational aid markers distributed across three waterway channels: three markers in the San Remo Channel, one marker in the Big Pass Channel, and two regulatory markers in the Lido Key Channel near Big Pass. Project completion is required within thirty calendar days of the County's Notice to Proceed, with work performed during standard business hours Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Quick Quote solicitation (2026-QQ-627) requires question submission by February 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with electronic bid submission through the County's procurement portal due by February 11, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
The solicitation establishes a lump-sum price bid cap of $50,000, with award made to the responsive and responsible bidder providing the lowest total bid price. Contractors must hold at least one active Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation license as either a Certified Marine Specialty Contractor or Certified Marine Pile Driving Specialty Contractor and submit minimum two references demonstrating similar experience. The County provides dayboards, regulatory signs, and reflective bands; the contractor supplies pilings, stainless steel hardware, cross-member lumber, isolator strips, piling wrap, and pile caps meeting marine use standards with minimum 10-foot ground penetration or 6-foot rock penetration. All materials are warranted for one year from County acceptance or the manufacturer's standard warranty, whichever is greater. Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability of not less than $1,000,000 each occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Business Automobile Liability of not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit, and Marine Liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000 each occurrence with Sarasota County named as additional insured. No set-asides exist for disadvantaged or minority-owned businesses, and the County reserves the right to cancel the Quick Quote and re-solicit if no responsive quotes are received below the $50,000 threshold.
