About this file
This document is a detailed technical specification for cold-storage rooms (Section 13 21 26) for the University Park PSWMRU Renovation project. The specification provides comprehensive requirements for prefabricated panel-type cold-storage rooms, including detailed technical specifications for construction, refrigeration equipment, and installation. Key technical requirements include:
Panels must be 4-inch thick minimum with aluminum interior and exterior skins bonded by foam insulation, featuring integral tongue and groove joints with flexible vinyl gaskets. The rooms require remote refrigeration systems, specialized modular panel units, left-handed swing doors, recording thermometers, temperature alarm systems, interior lighting, and outdoor condensing unit controls capable of operating down to 0 degrees F. The specification mandates compliance with multiple industry standards including AHRI, ASHRAE, ICC, and NSF, with specific emphasis on sustainability requirements, energy efficiency, and environmental considerations. Installation requires manufacturer's field services, comprehensive testing, and training for government personnel.
